Blue-Faced Leicester (BFL) is relatively fine for a long-wool and is semi-lustrous. The staple forms long, narrow, curly locks. In part because it is so fine, Blue-Faced Leicester wool is soft and silky. It is a good choice for making strong, smooth fabric and yarns that drape well. Fibre diameter: 56 - 60s. The super sorted BFL tops listed here are sourced in the UK from the British Wool Marketing Board and are graded to include only the finer fibres making an exceptionally soft top.

Shetland has the finest wool among the British Breeds, with a silky but slightly crisp hand. The staples are indistinct with tapered tips; the entire fleece is somewhat open. Shetland wool has traditionally been used to make warm, rugged fabrics including Fair Isle knitwear and woven tweeds. Fibre Diameter: 50s - 60s. The Shetland Tops on sale here are the softest of breed that I have used and considerably nicer than some others sold elsewhere. Shetland is an ideal fibre for new spinners.

Luxury Fibres - differing fibres and fibre blends depending on availability.

English Wool Blend - a blend of English Wools from several different breeds. This fibre is crisp and drafts easily making it an ideal 'beginners' fibre. The yarn it produces is hard wearing and versatile, not next to your neck soft but great for outer garments and accessories and an economical way to enjoy English fibre.

Falkland Tops -The fineness of the wool from the Falkland ranges from 18/19microns to 32/33microns with the bulk of the wool being in the 27-30microns category. The staple length is 80-100mm with the fleece showing good bulkiness and soft handle. It is especially good for knitting yarn. A free drafting fibre.
